Mildred Zimunya is currently the Director of Wellbeing with Thistle Foundation responsible for the Strategic and Operational leadership of the organisation and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. In her role she leads the organisation in ways that promote self-management, collaboration, creativity and innovation. Mildred graduated with a first class MBA qualification at Strathclyde Business School, She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Glasgow and a BSc degree in Nutrition from the University of Zimbabwe. Mildred joined has also worked as a senior manager with Waverley Care, a charity providing information, care and support to people living with HIV and Hepatitis C. She has 20 years’ experience working in the health sector and since 2006 has been involved in the development of an African Health Project since 2006 that engages with communities, services and other stakeholders to ensure a safe, quality service for African migrants in difficult and desperate health situations. In 2013, Mildred was a Finalist in the Unsung Hero Award in the Scottish Health Awards. She is a mother, a wife, a mentor and is passionate about supporting organisations that help those most in need to grow and succeed - especially when that involves unlocking the potential of employees. She is also keen to support women in minority groups to achieve their potential. |
